Marion County Farm to Fork

Marion County Farm Bureau participated in "Farm to Fork." Farm to Fork is a program for all Marion County fifth graders. During the event, students rotate through 11 stations where they learn about poultry, grain, honey bees, careers in agriculture, fruit and vegetable production, sheep and goat production, dairy, beef, conservation, farm equipment and pork. Students learn about each commodity and how food comes from the farm to the table. Clockwise: Student check out the lambs; Marion County Farm Bureau Women's Committee Member Kim Jones and Denise Jones go all out helping the kids make butter; Marion County Farm Bureau Women's Committee Co-chair Peggy Downs and Debra Sublett check in students for the event; Students receive instructions on the 11 stations they will rotate through for the "Farm to Fork" event.

Earlier today, Kentucky Commissioner of Agriculture Jonathan Shell gave keynote remarks during Kentucky Farm Bureau’s (KFB) annual Commodity Luncheon at the organization’s 106th Annual Meeting. The luncheon is one of the most anticipated sessions at the yearly event held at the Galt House in Louisville, celebrating the strength and resilience of Kentucky’s agriculture industry, while looking ahead to the future.

Cattle farmer Cody Burke of Franklin County won first place in the final round of Kentucky Farm Bureau’s (KFB) 2025 Discussion Meet, a debate-styled competition for young farmers that relies on an individual’s skill in reasoning and logical discussion of issues.
