Beekeepers in recent years have been sustaining over 20% winter losses in their hives. Tammy Horn, State Apiarist with the Ky Department of Agriculture, says that figure is actually an improvement in the trend. Despite the challenges she says interest in beekeeping is growing, and she touts a series of training meetings set for this winter.
