Adair County extension agent Nick Roy and a local cattle farmer did an experiment in wintertime bale feeding last season.  The process requires a little more management but can also reduce tractor fuel use and improve soils where cattle are fed. Roy says the process holds promise, even for smaller producers and can be checked out at any local extension office.
