The economic impact of the forest industry in Kentucky will probably surprise you as that bottom line is $9.9 billion, and that’s spread across most of the counties in the state, having employment impact, direct and indirect, for some 50,000 individuals. Jeff Stringer, UK professor of forestry, says this impact study will now be done annually.
