Posted on Sep 1, 2016A feature story on the Taylor County youth heifer chain, a cooperative effort between the local cattlemen’s association and 4-H. Amanda Sublett, 4-H agent, coordinates the program which provides a heifer for qualifying youngsters. They are required to care for the animal, learn how to handle it, and to show it at the local county fair. She says it’s been a great way to build confidence in youngsters, and for a few, to build a livestock career for the future.
