Purple Toad, Wight-Meyer lead medal parade at the Kentucky State Fair wine competition
Posted on Aug 22, 2012FRANKFORT, Ky. — Purple Toad Winery of Paducah took two of the three concordance gold medals awarded at the 2012 Kentucky State Fair Commercial Wine Competition on Aug. 11 at the Kentucky Exposition Center in Louisville. Judges awarded 101 medals to the Kentucky wineries in the competition. Wight-Meyer Vineyard & Winery of Shepherdsville was presented with the third Concordance Gold Medal for its Moore’s Diamond. Forest Edge Winery of Shepherdsville, MillaNova Winery of Mt. Washington, and Talon Winery of Lexington each earned a gold medal.
Wight-Meyer Vineyard & Winery claimed the most medals in the 2012 competition with 15. MillaNova Winery received 14 medals, Forest Edge and Purple Toad each took home 12, and Brooks Hill Winery of Brooks, Ky., was awarded 11 medals.
