It’s hard to believe that one short year ago we were celebrating Kentucky Farm Bureau’s (KFB) 100th anniversary at our annual meeting. Much has happened over the past year, to say the least, because of COVID-19.

I remember well the first meetings I attended as a Kentucky Farm Bureau (KFB) member more than 30 years ago. I was very impressed with the process by which issues were brought up from the county Farm Bureaus and addressed as policy was created and priorities were formed.

CBOT futures closed mixed with wheat leading the way higher. Cattle futures closed mostly higher but only by small amounts. Except for a 37 cent gain in December lean hogs, LH futures closed lower, but near the day’s highs.

CBOT futures closed lower and at/near the day’s lows. Cattle futures closed higher today despite weakness in beef values and no cash market activity. Lean hog futures closed slightly higher except for the December LH’s 10-cent loss.
