Corn and soybeans closed little changed, but wheat futures soared to new highs. Cattle futures closed nearly unchanged after trading both sides. Lean hog futures closed higher led by the nearby October LH.

CBOT futures closed mostly higher but nearer the day’s lows than the highs. Beyond the expiring August Live Cattle contract, cattle futures posted small gains in bouncing back from last week’s lower market. Lean hog futures closed slightly lower and well below the day’s highs.

Kentucky Farm Bureau to Host Measure-the-Candidate Forum for U.S. Senate Race

Kentucky Farm Bureau (KFB) will host a Measure-the-Candidate forum on Monday, August 31, 2020 at their state office in Louisville. The forum will consist of a question and answer session regarding KFB’s top policy priorities. Both the Republican and Democratic candidates for U.S. Senate have been invited to attend the forum. U.S. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell has accepted the invitation to participate; Amy McGrath has declined the invitation.

Kentucky Farm Bureau providing nearly 200 free Wi-Fi internet hotspots statewide

Kentucky Farm Bureau (KFB) activated a free, public Wi-Fi internet signal from 155 of its locations statewide and announced its plan to make that same signal available at its remaining 42 offices over the next several weeks. The Wi-Fi network – with its easily identifiable name, KFBFreeWiFi – is accessible from the parking areas around KFB’s buildings 7am-10pm daily and free to anyone who would like to use it.
