CBOT futures closed mostly higher with big gains in corn, wheat and soybeans. Except for nearby August Live Cattle, cattle futures closed higher by modest amounts. Lean hog futures closed strongly higher, supported by positive US/China trade discussions which suggests export pork sales will remain strong.

Many Kentucky farmers would agree that 2020’s winter wheat crop was a disappointing one, but from a long-term perspective, this versatile crop has proven to be valuable, in a lot of ways.
According to information from the USDA, wheat ranks third among U.S. field crops in planted acreage, production, and gross farm receipts, behind corn and soybeans.

The need for adequate broadband service has perhaps never been more apparent than it is now, but that need pre-dates COVID-19, and will likely still be around once the virus is contained.
Initiatives are moving forward, however, and will continue to do so, as long as it takes, said Kentucky Farm Bureau (KFB) President Mark Haney.

CBOT futures closed widely mixed to start the week. Cattle futures closed lower following last Friday afternoon’s bearish Cattle on Feed Report which showed surprisingly large July placements. Lean hog futures closed narrowly mixed but closer to the day’s lows.

BOT futures closed narrowly mixed with little new info to direct prices. Cattle futures closed mostly higher with higher beef values and steady cash fed cattle. Lean hog futures closed higher with the October and December LH contracts leading the way since they lost the most yesterday.
