CBOT futures closed steady to mostly lower on lack of supportive news. Except for the August LC contract, cattle futures closed lower.  Lean hog futures close very narrowly mixed with 50-75 cent ranges.

CBOT futures closed narrowly mixed with gains made on short-covering after yesterday’s sharp losses. Cattle futures closed mostly higher with LC supported by a stronger cash market. Fed steers traded up to $100/cwt.  Lean hog futures closed slightly higher on reduced slaughter and higher pork cutout values.

CBOT futures closed mostly narrowly mixed despite some positive export sales data.  Cattle futures closed higher with bigger gains in the feeders. Lean hog futures closed sharply lower with October and December LH falling well below the lows maintained during recent weeks.
