CBOT futures closed steady to sharply higher with Chicago wheat up over 20 cents.  Cattle futures closed slightly higher in deferred contracts to sharply higher in the nearby contracts.  Except for nearby July and August, lean hog futures closed slightly lower in narrow range trading.

CBOT futures closed narrowly mixed with late selling knocking prices down.  Cattle futures closed lower in a wide range. Lean hog futures closed widely mixed with the August LH contract losing the most at $1.35/cwt to $49.92.

Adding to Friday’s sharp losses, CBOT futures closed sharply lower to start the week. Live cattle futures ended mixed while feeder cattle made strong gains on top of Friday’s rally.  Lean hog futures posted modest gains except the August LH closed up $1.40/cwt.
