So much of how we act as an adult comes from what we learned as a child. I realize that is not an earth-shattering statement, but stay with me for a minute. The things we experienced growing up often stay with us. For instance, my dad was a big outdoorsman, and I have grown up loving the outdoors just as much. My mom was a nurturer, always making sure us kids were okay, showing how much she loved us.

CBOT futures closed steady to mostly higher with corn and winter wheat soaring. Cattle futures managed to close slightly higher as these markets continue their choppy sideways pattern.  Lean hog futures closed slightly higher after futures had dropped sharply on Friday in reaction to the bearish Hogs and Pigs Report.

CBOT futures closed mixed with corn taking it on the chin. Cattle futures closed mostly higher in relatively narrow price ranges. Lean hog futures closed from steady to $1.07 higher ahead of this afternoon’s Quarterly Hogs and Pigs Report.

CBOT futures closed mixed again today with minor price changes. Cattle futures closed higher except for the nearby June LC contract. Lean Hog futures closed strongly higher despite weaker pork cutouts.
