CBOT futures closed mostly higher with the significant exception of soybean meal.  Cattle futures closed strongly higher, adding to recent gains.  Lean hog futures closed lower, but sharply lower in the October and December contracts.

I’m blessed to have grown up on our family farm in Clark County. It taught me the benefits of hard work as I learned through hands-on activities that took place every day. I discovered how to grow crops, care for animals, and to be a good steward of the land. It was a classroom like no other and my parents set an example that I carry with me daily.

CBOT futures traded steady to mostly higher ahead of Friday’s USDA crop reports. Live cattle closed slightly higher while feeder futures made bigger gains. Lean hog futures closed sharply higher, with the first 3 contracts up the daily $3.00 limit (expands to $4.50 tomorrow).
