Kentucky State Fair: Tradition Triumphs

Normally, the month of August would be the time of year when hundreds of thousands of people would make their way to the Kentucky Exposition Center to experience the sights, sounds, and tastes of the Kentucky State Fair. But 2020 has been anything but normal due to regulations put in place because of COVID-19.

Corn and soybeans closed little changed, but wheat futures soared to new highs. Cattle futures closed nearly unchanged after trading both sides. Lean hog futures closed higher led by the nearby October LH.

CBOT futures closed mostly higher but nearer the day’s lows than the highs. Beyond the expiring August Live Cattle contract, cattle futures posted small gains in bouncing back from last week’s lower market. Lean hog futures closed slightly lower and well below the day’s highs.
