Ahead of Thursday’s USDA WASDE Report, CBOT futures were mostly little changed at the close. Cattle futures closed mostly lower today, pressured by falling boxed beef prices as beef production gets back close to normal. Lean hog futures also closed lower on rising pork production and weaker pork cutouts.

CBOT futures closed mixed with corn beating wheat and soybeans. Corn added to last week’s gains, making new highs for the move. Live cattle closed mixed while feeder futures mostly lost a dollar/cwt. Lean hog futures closed moderately higher on a strong pickup in hog slaughter and higher morning pork values.

CBOT futures closed mostly higher with some big moves made. Wheat and soybean futures led the market higher on supportive fundamentals. Cattle futures managed only slightly higher closes as beef values and cattle prices trend lower. Lean hog futures closed higher except for the nearby June contract.

CBOT futures closed mostly higher to steady, with soybean futures leading for a second day. Cattle futures closed steady to higher and near the day’s highs. Lean hog futures closed mixed with J/J/A lower and deferred contracts higher.

CBOT futures closed widely mixed with soybeans higher and wheat lower. Futures were generally supported by higher energy futures and a weaker dollar. Cattle futures closed sharply lower to as much as limit-down in the June Live Cattle.  Lean hog futures closed mixed but nearby June LH ended down a sharp $2.20/cwt.
