After trading some really wide ranges, CBOT futures closed fairly narrowly mixed (excluding big gains in oats and rice). Cattle futures closed mostly higher except for the 3 nearby Live Cattle contracts. Lean Hog futures closed sharply lower as cash hog price and the pork cutout value dropped.

CBOT futures mostly closed lower to sharply lower as traders seemed to reassess yesterday’s USDA supply-demand estimates. Cattle futures closed sharply lower and near the day’s lows. Lean hog futures also closed sharply lower, adding to the short-term downtrend started a week ago.
