CBOT futures closed lower and near the day’s lows. Futures held up well overnight, but headed south after the 830 am CT reopening. Live and feeder cattle futures closed strongly higher following Monday’s limit-down moves. Lean Hog futures closed widely mixed due to uncertainty about hog plant closures.  

CBOT futures closed mostly lower to steady. The entire soy complex led the market to the downside.  Cattle futures closed down the daily limit of $3.00 in Live Cattle and $4.50/cwt in Feeder Cattle. Except for the soon-to-expire April LH contract, lean hog futures closed sharply lower with May and June LH locking down the daily $3.75 limit.

CBOT futures closed steady to strongly higher following today’s USDA WASDE Report. Live cattle closed lower beyond the April contract and feeder cattle futures finished mixed. Beyond the soon-to-expire April LH contract, lean hogs closed sharply lower in unusually narrow trading ranges.

CBOT futures closed mostly narrowly mixed ahead of tomorrow’s monthly supply-demand report.  Both live cattle and feeder cattle futures closed sharply higher, adding to Tuesday’s limit-up moves. Lean Hog futures closed moderately lower on weakness in the cash hog and pork markets.
