Kentucky Agriculture Commissioner Ryan Quarles says he is pleased with legislation approved in 2019 by the Kentucky General Assembly, including revisions to the grain indemnity fund and a fake meat bill. Quarles told Kentucky Farm Bureau members during their recent meeting he will be advocating for revisions to the tax system that favor agriculture and food safety regulations in 2020.

CBOT futures closed narrowly mixed with support from good weekly export sales reports this morning. Cattle futures ended little changed on the day. Lean Hog futures closed slightly higher except for the nearby February LH contract gaining $1.07/cwt.
