Today’s program discusses the lessons portrayed in the movie and talks about another movie that Goldberg is looking to produce that shares the story of a rescuer and a second movie that will spotlight stress on the farm.

Movie Producer Sam Goldberg was in Kentucky Saturday, October 12, for the screening of the movie “The Silo” that details the story of a grain rescue on a Kentucky Farm.  Goldberg talks about making the movie, the lessons he hopes the movie shows and efforts to have it screened in every farming community across the country.

CBOT futures closed very mixed with gains for wheat and losses for soybeans and meal; corn ended nearly steady. Cattle futures closed slightly higher except for nearby October LC which gained $1.35/cwt. December LH futures closed mixed with nearby December LH futures losing $1.50; this follows Tuesday’s $3.00 limit-up move.

CBOT closed steady to lower with corn and wheat falling sharply due to bearish estimates in the monthly USDA crop reports. Cattle futures closed narrowly mixed as traders wait to see where fed cattle will trade this week. Lean Hog futures closed lower and near the day’s lows.
