Murray State University will host an agriculture hemp field day Thursday, September 19, at the University farm. Hutson School of Agriculture Director Dr. Tony Brannon says the field day will showcase some of the latest research, plant trials, weed and insect control methods and other testing that is being done at the Center For Agricultural Hemp.

University of Kentucky Grain and Forage Center of Excellence Director Dr. Chad Lee says the center that will open Thursday will be more than just a building. Dr. Lee says the facility will likely attract a new generation of researchers to the College of Agriculture to help farmers in Kentucky and the southeast region.

CBOT futures traded higher in follow-through on Tuesday’s rally but closed lower. Market direction may hinge on tomorrow’s USDA Production report for corn and soybeans. Live Cattle and Feeder Cattle futures closed strongly higher – for the second straight day. Lean hog futures closed lower with the nearby October LH contract down sharply.
