The Kentucky Forest Industry Association will host their annual Wood Expo this weekend at Masterson Park in Louisville.  KFIA Director Bob Bauer talks about the expo, what people can see and some of the contests that loggers and others will be participating in.

Murray State University will host an agriculture hemp field day Thursday, September 19, at the University farm.  Hutson School of Agriculture Director Dr. Tony Brannon says the field day will showcase some of the latest research, plant trials, weed and insect control methods and other testing that is being done at the Center For Agricultural Hemp.

University of Kentucky Grain and Forage Center of Excellence Director Dr. Chad Lee says the center that will open Thursday will be more than just a building.  Dr. Lee says the facility will likely attract a new generation of researchers to the College of Agriculture to help farmers in Kentucky and the southeast region.

CBOT futures traded higher in follow-through on Tuesday’s rally but closed lower. Market direction may hinge on tomorrow’s USDA Production report for corn and soybeans. Live Cattle and Feeder Cattle futures closed strongly higher – for the second straight day.  Lean hog futures closed lower with the nearby October LH contract down sharply.

My youngest son recently moved back to college with the help of good ole mom and dad who graciously allowed him to try apartment living for the first time instead of a dorm.  After getting everything into place, his first request (actually it was a complaint) was to help him get logged on to the supplied WIFI.
