CBOT futures closed significantly lower on a lack of export demand and non-threatening weather (moderate temperatures, although less rainy).  Cattle futures closed higher and near the day’s highs. Cattle were supported by ideas last week’s weakness has run its course. This was aided by Friday’s generally “price neutral” Cattle on Feed Report and the mid-year Cattle inventory report.

CBOT futures closed near steady to strongly lower. Corn and wheat dropped 2-3% and finished near the day’s lows.  Cattle futures closed lower with feeders down the most. CBOT futures closed steady to mostly lower and mostly near the low end of the day’s trading ranges.  Cattle futures closed lower as prices take a breather from the 3-week rally that peaked Friday-Monday.  Lean Hog futures closed strongly higher, supported by this week’s rising cash hog and pork prices.
