The Agriculture Council of America (ACA) will host National Agriculture Day on March 14, 2019.

The Agriculture Council of America (ACA) will host National Agriculture Day on March 14, 2019. This will mark the 46th anniversary of National Ag Day which is celebrated in classrooms and communities across the country. The theme for National Ag Day 2019 is "Agriculture: Food for Life."

Kentucky Farm Bureau’s Outstanding Youth, Marcus Wiseman and Lauren Rowlett, were among those attending the Congressional Tour.  Wiseman and Rowlett talked about their experience in Washington, DC, what they have learned about the role of Farm Bureau and the message they hoped to leave behind with their members of Congress.

Farm Bureau members also heard from five of the six members of the Kentucky Congressional Delegation during the annual Farm Bureau Congressional Tour.  The Congressional Delegation addressed topics ranging from rural broadband to trade, labor issues and a number of other topics.

More than 300 Kentucky Farm Bureau members met with Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell and Senator Rand Paul during the annual Congressional Tour.  Senators McConnell and Paul talked about important agriculture issues including trade, industrial hemp, socialism, the impact of Farm Bureau and the possibility of association health plans.

And the beat goes on – corn and beans closed little changed as the China trade situation drags on with rumors of a big deal, but confirmation still days/weeks away.  Live Cattle closed mixed and Feeders were lower across the board. Lean Hog futures closed higher, posting the highest closes since February 15.

CBOT futures closed mixed with soybeans and wheat ending near the day’s lows.Early support came from President Trump’s encouraging remark about a US/China trade deal.  Live Cattle futures closed lower, led by the nearby April LC dropping 1.20 to 128.35.
