Kentucky Farm Bureau members adopted a new set of resolutions during the 99th annual meeting in late November and early December.  Farm Bureau State First Vice-President Eddie Melton details some of the major resolutions and discusses how they could become part of the American Farm Bureau resolutions that will be adopted later this month in New Orleans.

Kentucky Farm Bureau President Mark Haney was among a large group of agriculture leaders that witnessed President Donald Trump sign the 2018 Farm Bill into law Thursday, December 20.  Haney talks about the wins for agriculture in the 2018 Farm Bill, funding for expanded broadband and grants that could benefit non land grant universities in Kentucky.

Hunger continues to be a major problem in Kentucky, with agriculture playing a major role in helping address the problem.  Kentucky Association of Food Banks Director Tamara Sandberg says agriculture helped provide more than 64 million meals to hungry Kentuckians in 2018.

Language in the 2018 Farm Bill changes the classification for Industrial Hemp.  United States Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, who served on the House-Senate Conference Committee, says the industrial hemp legislation was one of the major accomplishments in the new farm bill.
