Rebecca Baker of Mercer County is the recipient of Kentucky Farm Bureau’s (KFB) 2017 Women’s Educational Grant. The announcement was made at the organization’s 98th annual meeting, held at the Galt House Hotel in Louisville.

Jack Roberts recognized for Distinguished Service to Farm Bureau

Jack Roberts of Wayne County has dedicated his life to his family and farm while also serving Farm Bureau at the local and state levels, as well as his community in a multitude of capacities. Because of that service, Roberts has been named winner of the 2017 Distinguished Service to Farm Bureau Award and honored at Kentucky Farm Bureau’s (KFB) 98th annual meeting at the Galt House Hotel.

James William Barton, Jr. honored for Distinguished Service to Agriculture

Fayette County farmer James William Barton, Jr. has been named winner of Kentucky Farm Bureau’s (KFB) annual award for Distinguished Service to Agriculture. He was honored at the organization’s 98th annual meeting at the Galt House Hotel. Mr. Barton passed away earlier this year.

Butler and Mercer County Farm Bureaus honored as  Kentucky Farm Bureau's 2017 "Top County"

Recognized for its outstanding programming and for having a positive impact on both the community and its membership, Butler and Mercer County Farm Bureaus were honored as Kentucky Farm Bureau’s (KFB) “Top County” in 2017. This is the first time there has been a tie for the award.

Amber Dotson of Bourbon County and Braedon Price of Warren County were awarded top honors in the 2017 Outstanding Farm Bureau Youth contest. Both winners were recognized during the November 30 general session of Kentucky Farm Bureau’s (KFB) 98th annual meeting, held at the Galt House Hotel in Louisville.

Tresa Skaggs of Henderson County, a teacher at East Heights Elementary School in Henderson, is the recipient of Kentucky Farm Bureau’s 2017 Excellence in Ag Literacy Award. The announcement was made at the organization’s 98th annual meeting, held at the Galt House Hotel in Louisville.

A major meeting of some four state associations dealing with fruits and vegetables is set for January 8 and 9 at Lexington’s Embassy Suites.  Event coordinator, UK horticulturist John Strang talks about some of the plans and activities on tap for those in attendance.  Some eighty speakers will present during the two-day conference.
