Comer, who previously served as Kentucky Ag Commissioner, recently participated in a Kentucky Farm Bureau Farm Bill meeting. The CBOT was influenced today by a weaker US Dollar and wet weather in the western Corn Belt. Wet soils could trim corn acres and pad soybean acreage. Cattle futures closed higher with support stemming from the June Live Cattle contract’s sharp discount to the cash market around $135.

The first national purebred beef breed headquarters is coming to Kentucky. Thanks to a state Ag Development Grant, the American Black Hereford Association will be opening its office in Lexington. Feldhaus visits with Tim Tarter of Pulaski County, president of that national association.
