CBOT futures closed mixed with the major commodity contracts posting gains. Cattle futures closed moderately lower on fed cattle price concerns sliding boxed beef values. Lean hog futures closed moderately higher beyond the soon-to-expire May LH contract.

CBOT futures closed mostly higher except for soybean meal which extended its ongoing downtrend to new lows. Live and feeder cattle futures closed narrowly mixed, pausing after two days of gains. Lean hog futures closed sharply higher on short-covering corrective buying in an oversold market.

CBOT futures closed mostly lower and near the lows of the day. Cattle futures closed higher in follow-through buying to Monday’s strong price increases. Beyond the nearby May LH, lean hog futures closed sharply lower, extending the 2-week collapse in LH futures.
