CBOT futures closed markedly lower again today as the funds continue selling amid favorable weather and hurricane-delayed export activity at the US Gulf. Cattle futures closed mostly higher with feeders benefitting from falling corn prices. Lean hog futures closed mostly higher led by the nearby October contract.

Corn and soybean futures closed lower but well off the day’s lows, while wheat recovered from big losses to close near the day’s highs. Cattle futures closed lower. LC were pressured by weakening boxed beef values and fund long liquidation. Lean hog futures closed mixed with the first 5 LH contracts lower.
