Marketbasket Survey
Kentucky Farm Bureau Federation has conducted its regional Marketbasket Survey for more than four decades. The survey monitors the prices of 40 basic food items throughout the state and then averages the numbers into six categories: beef, pork, poultry, dairy, fruits and vegetables, and grains. The Survey is conducted at the end of each quarter and is used to monitor overall and category price trends across the Commonwealth.
The Marketbasket Survey is also used as a comparative tool to reflecting local food price trends and their relationship to what farmers receive for their raw commodities.
